Karin Schröder is a German actress.She was born on April 7, 1942 in Berlin .

Life

Karin Schröder completed an apprenticeship as a typist with a skilled worker certificate in the state broadcasting committee. After test recordings, her first role followed in New Year's Eve punch and then studied acting at the HFF Potsdam , where she occasionally had stage guest appearances. She played in various DEFA and DFF films . During her studies she was hired by the director Günter Reisch for roles in his contemporary comedies.

In 1964 she had a great success with comedian Rolf Herricht in the film musical Beloved White Mouse . Kurt Maetzig brought her face to face with artistic success through the post-war history . At the IFF Karlovy Vary 1978 she was honored as best actress alongside Hildegard Knef .

In 1987 she moved to the Federal Republic and became known nationwide as the boss of the long-lived RTL series Die Wache . From 1994 to 1995 Karin Schröder played the role of Sophie Himmel-Eiler in the RTL soap opera Unter uns .
