Christopher Posch (born January 7, 1976 in Kassel ) is a German lawyer , specialist lawyer for criminal law , entrepreneur and author .

Career

Christopher Posch was born as the son of the politician Dieter Posch , who was Hessian Minister of Economics and Transport from 1999 to 2003 and from 2009 to 2012 . After studying law in Marburg and Cologne , he was admitted to the bar in 2006 and initially worked as an employed attorney.

Shortly thereafter, he began a career in television as a participant in two TV daytime formats, first in 2006 in the RTL court show “ The Juvenile Court ”, then in 2007 and 2008 in the RTL program “ Public Prosecutor Posch determined ”. . In both series he played the investigating prosecutor .

On June 6, 2010 he was in a test series for the RTL documentary special Christopher Posch - I fight for your rights! to see, in which his law firm in Kassel is also involved. The series got a permanent place on RTL from autumn 2010. New episodes were broadcast until 2016.

Posch has been running his law firm since 2008 together with partners and other lawyers. Posch specializes in criminal law and criminal defense . In 2014 he was a defense attorney in a murder trial at the Fulda Regional Court .

Posch has also taken on guest roles in TV series. He appeared in 2008 in the RTL series Unter Uns and in 2010 in the series Alarm für Cobra 11 - Die Autobahnpolizei as a lawyer. In the TV show Mario Barth Reveals! Posch has been a regular guest since October 9, 2013. There he presents cases of tax waste and confronts the responsible officials with the help of his work as a lawyer.

In 2017 Posch was seen on the TV channel DMAX . The title of the new documentary format is "Poschs Criminalz - Gangsters unpack". In 2020 he defended rapper Gzuz of the Hamburg hip-hop group 187 street gang as a lawyer in court.

Posch is married and has one child. He practices boxing as a hobby .

Controversy and allegations

Criticism came when it was alleged that cases on his show Christopher Posch - I fight for your rights! were staged and a dog owner was "terrorized". RTL emphasized in announcements about the program that it was “without exception real cases” of Posch, in which he was accompanied by the cameras. However, this is countered by statements that Posch's programs were also made in the second season, which started on September 5, 2012 in prime time. There was no alleged compromise by Posch, although this was claimed in the television series. Posch is also accused of having promised to look at the conflict again later, but not keeping this promise.

Critics, especially the journalist Holger Kreymeier , throw Posch in connection with the program Christopher Posch - I fight for your rights! again and again before self-staging by using the program to profile himself with unfair means. He is also accused of reporting scandal with the aim of achieving the highest possible audience ratings by dealing with certain cases in a particularly emotional way.

In several cases, preliminary injunctions against the broadcast of individual consequences have already been obtained, mainly due to the violation of personal rights; the programs were broadcast anyway. In addition, Posch and his production team were sued several times directly in connection with the show, including trespassing and bodily harm . Politician Ralph T. Niemeyer also filed a lawsuit against Posch.
