The series was produced in two seasons in Cologne and the surrounding area by the film and TV production company filmpool . The first season consisted of 132 one-hour episodes. The first 95 aired from February 5, 2007 to June 22, 2007, the episodes 96 to 132 from August 20, 2007 to October 12, 2007. From June 25, 2007 to August 17, 2007, 40 episodes of the first season were shown as reruns. The second season followed on November 19, 2007 with 42 half-hour episodes. Due to weak ratings, the broadcast of the series in the afternoon program was stopped. All of the remaining episodes that had already been produced were broadcast in the early morning at 5:10 a.m. (Tuesday to Friday) from February 26th. On April 18, 2008, the last new episode was shown for the time being, but reruns will continue to be broadcast in the early morning.

As is typical for a crime thriller pseudo-documentary, the protagonist Christopher Posch , already known from The Juvenile Court , the public prosecutor and the police work closely together. Supported by three teams of investigators, the viewer also gets to know private and personal sides of the public prosecutor .
