Episode list

financing

The magazine was originally financed only through advertising income , donations and an online shop . After the host of the server on which the website can be found increased the traffic prices, advertising was introduced within the episodes with episode 67. From episode 69 to episode 119 there was the TV review TV couch payment system . Since then, new episodes have been available without advertising and in higher image quality. In addition, a subscription between one and six months could be concluded via PayPal or by bank transfer . The price per episode was between 70 and 80 cents. However, the free, advertising-financed Flash version of the respective episode continued to appear every two days after the subscription version.

In August 2013 the couch was replaced by the Massengeschmack-TV portal , which also includes other formats produced by Alsterfilm such as B. Pressesch (l) au are offered. In the meantime, combinations of various mass-taste formats were available for subscription, in which an episode of TV criticism TV cost between around 99 cents and 1.49 euros. To compensate for declining advertising revenues, the period between the release for subscribers and the freely available version has been increased. The portal now has a fixed monthly fee of 6.99 euros, for which all formats are available without restriction.

On April 15, 2017, it was announced that TV Review TV is no longer available for free. The website fernsehkritik.tv is to be completely deleted in the course of this. A forwarding to massengeschmack.tv has already taken place.

Campaign "I don't pay for that"

By working as a freelancer for the NDR , Kreymeier said he had internal insights into the public broadcaster and the misdirected use of license fees. Based on this experience, Kreymeier started the “I don't pay for this” campaign in mid-February 2009. The campaign criticized the handling of the license fees and the GEZ by public broadcasters in Germany. She accused the broadcasters of a steadily decreasing quality of the program - the broadcasters no longer oriented themselves towards their educational mandate, but instead aimed for the highest possible audience rating . The intention of the campaign was not to call for a fee boycott, but to ask the broadcasters to improve their programming. In a prominent place on the campaign homepage, for example, the slogan “Broadcasting fees? Yes, but please for better television! ”The centerpiece of the campaign was a cinema spot that was shown in a small number of cinemas in large cities and through which Kreymeier and his show attracted increased attention.

After the publication and broadcast of this commercial, the collaboration between NDR and Holger Kreymeier ended. Due to opposing statements by the parties, it is not known whether this was done at the request of the NDR or whether it was Kreymeier's free decision.

Litigation

Call and lose

At the end of 2009, Marc Doehler published the film "Calling and losing", which criticized call-in broadcasts in Austria and Switzerland and was offered for download a little later on the TV critic TV website. As a result, there was a legal dispute between the companies mass response Service GmbH , Primavera TV and Internet Production GmbH on the one hand and Fernsehkritik-TV on the other. The Mass Response Service obtained an injunction before the Hamburg Regional Court against being named in the film as the producer of the call-in competitions. The Primavera TV und Service GmbH filed against the established in the film claims a request for injunction so failed at first but before the Munich District Court I ; later Primavera was able to achieve a partial success before the higher regional court in Munich. Both proceedings have a value in dispute of 160,000 euros. The procedural costs for television review TV in the amount of 12,000 euros could be covered after an appeal for donations. The proceedings against Primavera and Internet Production GmbH were decided in September 2011 due to a default judgment in favor of Fernsehkritik-TV before the Munich I district court. Kreymeier recognized the injunction before the Hamburg Higher Regional Court. Since Marc Doehler won in the same thing shortly afterwards, Kreymeier described the early recognition as a big mistake.

"Shit RTL T-Shirt"

In September 2011, the television broadcaster RTL Television issued a warning to the TV critic TV production company because a T-shirt with the label “Scheiß RTL” was being sold via the website's online shop . RTL Television was offended by the unauthorized use of the station logo trademark rights and called on Alster film delivering a punitive cease and desist . Holger Kreymeier published RTL's letter on his website, although RTL expressly forbade publication of the document. Kreymeier sees RTL's approach as an attempt to stop his critical reporting. He relies on satire and sees it as a legitimate corruption of the slogan “mein RTL”, analogous to the usual language used in RTL programs.

RTL had previously had several videos based on the RTL jingle deleted on the YouTube platform . Since Alsterfilm continued to offer the T-shirt in its online shop, RTL Television stopped sales by means of an injunction on September 23, 2011. Similar T-shirts were subsequently offered in the shop that no longer contained the protected station logo, but instead, for B. Garbage cans in the colors dominated by RTL. Holger Kreymeier tried to have this protected by a protective letter . RTL also saw its trademark law violated in this, which means that the sale of this variant was initially stopped by an injunction.

At the end of November 2011, Kreymeier received a summons for June 19, 2012 before the Cologne Regional Court . To this end, he started an appeal for donations at the end of March 2012 and collected 5,000 euros within a few days. The trial began on September 4, 2012 and the verdict was reached on September 25. The court banned the sale of the t-shirts.

In a blog entry in which the decision on how to proceed was announced, Kreymeier announced that he would recognize the judgment on the Scheiß-RTL-Shirt with the real RTL logo and against the judgment on the Scheiß-RTL-Shirt with garbage cans as a logo To object. He planned to go to the next and, if necessary, to the following instance . For this purpose, donations have been collected since the end of October 2012 with a goal of 25,000 euros.

The public hearing before the Cologne Higher Regional Court took place on May 3, 2013. Kreymeier withdrew the appeal at the suggestion of the court, the T-shirt remains banned - but RTL bears its legal fees itself. According to the court, the brand is denigrated by the isolated use of the word shit as a whole, it is not at all clear what Kreymeier criticize exactly at RTL. "It is an all-round blow to the whole station," said Richter Nolte.

Katharina Saalfrank

In September 2012, Katharina Saalfrank sued Holger Kreymeier, citing the report on the shooting of her program Die Super Nanny for cessation. In her lawsuit, she denied that there were stage directions in the program; many other assertions made would also be false.

The corresponding report contained an interview with a family who talked about the shooting and the behavior of Ms. Saalfrank and her team. These included statements that contradicted what was shown or said on the show. I.a. said the family that Katharina Saalfrank would have been visiting for a much shorter time and less often than it appears on the show; or that Saalfrank would have told crew members to "get rid of these bugs" when children from the neighborhood tried to contact Ms. Saalfrank.

One of the most serious allegations was that a member of the crew allegedly said that it was time for the family dog to die; he actually died of poisoning during the shooting. In the show, this was portrayed as a difficult emotional moment and turning point for the whole family. Kreymeier emphasized in his contribution that nobody claims that Ms. Saalfrank or someone from the crew deliberately killed the dog; however, after the post was published, many YouTube videos appeared that cut and / or shortened the post in such a way that it seemed as if Kreymeier had openly alleged the killing. That Kreymeier actually implied this was part of the lawsuit.

On January 8, 2013, Katharina Saalfrank expanded the complaint to include suspicious transaction reports . The first public hearing took place on January 16, 2013 in the Cologne Regional Court . Due to the court ruling in 2015, Kreymeier has to change the complained article.

criticism

The industry service DWDL criticizes Kreymeier's “self-portrayal” as “a lonely fighter against the great”, whereby he “sometimes uses a mallet rather than analysis”.

The online platform Endstation Rechts criticized a TV review in which the South Tyrolean German rock band Frei.Wild was interviewed. She took offense at the interview technique Kreymeiers, who is convinced of the political harmlessness of the band and during the interview sat "nodding and approving next to Burger" (the singer of the group) and "even put placations and intelligent formulations into his mouth", " the burger wouldn't have said like that ”.
