Paul Wollin

Paul Leon Wollin (born March 17, 1989 in Berlin ) is a German actor .

Life

Paul Wollin comes from a family with an artistic background; his uncle is a costume designer . Wollin decided early on to pursue an acting career. From 2009 to 2012 he completed his acting training at the Berlin Film Acting School .

Since then he has starred in several plays and short films. In 2011 he was a guest at the Nationaltheater Mannheim as part of the International Schiller Days in the theater project X Apartments . In the 2011/12 season he was seen as a “primitive” in Nurkan Erpulat's play Clash at the Junge Deutsches Theater . In 2011 he got an engagement at Ballhaus Naunynstraße , where he has performed regularly since then. There he played u. a. den Basti in Nurkan Erpulat's intercultural theater project Verrücktes Blut and the roles of MP / lawyer in bicycles could play a role under the direction of Lukas Langhoff . He has now played the role of Basti in Verrücktes Blut in over 100 performances. In 2011 he appeared in Verrücktes Blut at the Berlin Theatertreffen . With the piece Verrücktes Blut in 2012, Wollin also went on tour throughout the German-speaking region, from East Germany to South Tyrol ( Bozen ). In 2012 he was awarded the ensemble prize for the play Verrücktes Blut at the International Theater Festival "Kontakt" in Toruń (Poland). He was also on stage in the performance Spiegelungen ; in it he played Ogün Samast, the assassin of the murdered Armenian journalist Hrant Dink . His partner as Hrant Dink was Peter von Strombeck .

He has been playing at the Maxim Gorki Theater in Berlin since the 2014/15 season . In the 2015/16 season he also appeared there in Verrücktes Blut as Basti.

Wollin has already taken on various, mostly minor, roles in film and television. From July 2014 (episode 4888) to September 2014 (episode 4927) Wollin was seen in a continuous supporting role in the RTL series Unter uns ; he played the convicted Maik Müller, a racket and the leader of a youth gang. For the film Toro (director: Martin Hawie, 2015) he was the leading actor in front of the camera for the first time in the title role. He played Piotr from Poland in the film, who earns his living with prostitution and is active as a boxer in his free time . The film was shown in 2015 at the Hof Film Festival and was 2,016 at the Berlinale shown in the section "German perspective Cinema" and the film Toro received an honorable mention at the Hofer Film Festival 2015; The acting performance of Wollin was particularly recognized: “Paul Wollin plays his Toro in the film of the same name with phenomenal physical presence in an impressively ambivalent interpretation. A new discovery ”.

In November 2015, Wollin was seen in an episode role in the ZDF crime series SOKO Leipzig . In the ZDF series SOKO Wismar (first broadcast: February 2017), Wollin played the car freak Tobias Noll, a tuner and speedster with multiple criminal records, who is suspected of having committed a crime. In the movie thriller 7500 (2019) he played Daniel, the leader of the extremists. In the 4th season of the ZDF series Professor T. (2020) Wollin took on one of the episode roles as a suspected ex-boyfriend of a young woman who was killed.

Wollin lives in Berlin-Charlottenburg . His hobbies include rapping , physical training , kickboxing and his dog Bobby, with whom he also appeared in Unter uns . He's also interested in cabaret ; his favorite vacation spot is Tenerife .
