Ballhaus Naunynstrasse

The Ballhaus Naunynstraße is a Berlin theater with a program focus on “post-migrant cultural productions”. The stage is an institution of the Friedrichshain-Kreuzberg district and has existed since 1983. It is funded by the Senate Chancellery for Cultural Affairs of the State of Berlin. In addition to own stage productions, there are also co-productions and collaborations with independent groups. The Diyalog TheaterFest has been taking place in Ballhaus Naunynstraße since it opened.

history

In the venue is a restored before the entry of the theater Berliner Ballhaus from the 19th century . From then on, the facility offered free groups from Berlin, especially the district, playing opportunities, but was also a meeting point for international artists.

Since its reopening after renovations in 2008 ( European Year of Intercultural Dialogue ), the house has been artistically directed by Şermin Langhoff . Famous descendants of migrants in Germany such as Fatih Akın , Miraz Bezar , Nuran David Çalış , Neco Çelik , Ceza , Canan Erek , Nurkan Erpulat , Kadir Memiş , Hakan Savaş Mican , Mehdi Moinzadeh , İdil Üner have been involved in the Ballhaus since then , Deniz Utlu , Mürtüz Yolcu and Feridun Zaimoğlu .

The successors for Langhoff, who became the director of the Maxim Gorki Theater in Berlin from the 2013/14 season , are Wagner Carvalho , founder of the Brazilian dance festival Move Berlim , and the dramaturge Tunçay Kulaoğlu .
