Marcel Richard "Mars" Saibert (born September 11, 1977 in Düsseldorf ) is a German actor , director, screenwriter, speaker and musician . He became known through the soap opera Unter uns .

Life

Saibert has a sister. In 1997 he made the Theodor-Fliedner-Gymnasium in Dusseldorf High School . He then studied German and philosophy at the Heinrich Heine University in Düsseldorf .

He lives in Düsseldorf and has been married to Nadine Saibert since December 13, 2019.

Career

In 1993, Saibert was a member of the band Konstruktivbedingungen , which released the album "Kühl". In 1999 and 2000 he was the singer of the duo Double Up, with whom he released the singles Bobby Brown and Stay by My Side . In 2002 Saibert founded the band Juicy Junk . With her he brought out the albums Mission Sungun and the single Everybody (Sucks) . The single reached number 71 in the German charts.

After a guest appearance in the soap opera Unter Uns in the summer of 2004, he was included in the main cast of the series and was there from August 15, 2005 to September 2010 as "Martin 'Mars' Summer". He became known for the song Borderline, which he composed in March 2006 on the occasion of the serial death of the character René Sturm played by Sven Waasner .

His first solo album "On Air" reached number 22 in the German charts. The single Reason stayed at number 15 in the German single charts for 9 weeks.

In 2007 he wrote the script for the film "Wortbrot" together with the photographer Estelle Klawitter and also directed it.

In 2009 he starred in the movie "Zweiohrküken" with Til Schweiger, "Times Change You" with Bushido, "Sex and Zaziki - Landliebe" with Wolke Hegenbarth and Sönke Möhring in whose screenplay he played a major role.

Wide roles followed and a. on the RTL show "Mission Hollywood", the movie "Agent Ranjid saves the world", the ARD series "Alles Klara", the WDR format "Ein Fall für die Anrheiner", "Hotel 13", and a guest appearance on "Alles was Counts ". Most recently he was seen as a commissioner for the ZDF series "Aktenzeichen XY".

In 2017 Saibert took part in the seventh season of the singing casting show The Voice of Germany and was eliminated in the “Battle Round” against the candidate Janina Beyerlein.

From 2018 to 2019 he was in front of the camera for 2 seasons of the Sat.1 reality soap opera Meine Klasse - Voll das Leben .

Mars also worked as a spokesperson for various brands such as Pepsi Max, Telekom, Hugo Boss, Lenor and Loréal.
