Haydar Zorlu
Haydar Zorlu (born May 4, 1967 in Mikail, Karlıova , Turkey ) is a Turkish- German actor .
Life
In 2011, Haydar Zorlu founded the currently only German-Turkish theater SanatOdası / KunstRaum in Istanbul. He finished primary school in Turkey. Zorlu lived in Cologne from 1979. He has been commuting between Istanbul and Eitorf since 2012. He discovered his love for the theater during his school days at the Stadtgymnasium Köln-Porz, where he also played the beggar king “Peachum” in Bertolt Brecht's Threepenny Opera . While studying at the University of Cologne in 1988, Zorlu got his first leading role in the short film “A Turkish Wedding”, which in 1989 received the “best short film” award in Barcelona. From 1988 to 1994 Zorlu studied German, Romance studies and political science. As early as 1989 he played the role of Moritz Jäger in Gerhart Hauptmann's Die Weber in the Oberhausen theater . Afterwards Zorlu worked for two seasons as a member of the ensemble of the Arkadaş Theater in Cologne . Further stations were the Wupper Theater , the Cologne Artists Theater, the Freie Werkstatt Theater (FWT) in Cologne and the Christallerie Wadgassen. At the Dortmund Opera House, Zorlu has played the narrator in “The fairy tale in a fairy tale” since 2009. He completed his acting training with Bob McAndrew in New York, Paris, Barcelona, Madrid and Cologne. After numerous film and television productions such as Tatort , Coast Guard and Forsthaus Falkenau , Zorlu played one of the leading roles in the Austrian series Oben ohne from 2006 to 2011, directed by Reinhard Schwabenitzky .
