Elvis Clausen

Elvis Clausen (* 1987 in Hanover ) is a German actor .

Life

Clausen is of Ghanaian descent. Since 2011 he has worked as a theater actor on various German-speaking stages, including at the Lüneburg Theater (2011; as the devil Samiel in "Der kleine Freischütz" based on motifs from the opera Der Freischütz ). At the North German Tourneetheater in Hamburg he was engaged as a tomcat in the fairy tale play Puss in Boots based on motifs by the Brothers Grimm (2011; directed by Franz Breit) and as Israel Hands in Treasure Island based on Robert Louis Stevenson (2012; directed by Franz Breit).

From October 2013 to 2017 he studied acting at the Ernst Busch Academy of Dramatic Arts in Berlin . In 2014 he took on the role of Driss at the Theater am Kurfürstendamm in a stage version of Pretty Best Friends based on Eric Toledano and Olivier Nakache (director: Martin Woelffer). In the 2015/16 season he appeared at the Berlin Schaubühne alongside Ursula Werner as Andrej in the play The Mother of Bertolt Brecht .

Clausen has also worked for film and television. In 2012 he was seen in a leading role in the Sat.1 series On Heart and Kidneys ; he played the young African chef Lamin. From October 2013 he had a three-month series role in the RTL series Unter uns . He played the African John Badawi, the husband of the series character Leonie Weidenfels ( Sarah Stork ), who leads a fictitious marriage with him in order to enable him to stay in Germany. In the Swiss film Schweizer Helden (2013; director: Peter Luisi ) he played the young asylum seeker Akin alongside Klaus Wildbolz . In the German comedy Coming In by Marco Kreuzpaintner , he took on the supporting role of the African Ndugdu.

He had episode roles in the ZDF television series Der Kriminalist (2014; as Tayo Yeboah, the suspect young Nigerian husband of a murdered flight attendant) and in SOKO Stuttgart (2014; as an illegal Kenyan Boma Sasura).

In the fairy tale film Die Salzprinzessin (2015; Director: Zoltan Spirandelli ) he took on the leading role of the charming African Prince Thabo from the distant kingdom of Bokanda.

For his portrayal in the movie Lucky Loser - A Summer in Trouble , he received a 2017 nomination for the “New German Cinema Award” in the drama category at the Munich Film Festival . In the 13th season of the television series Notruf Hafenkante (2019), Clausen took on one of the leading roles in the episode as a suspected car mechanic Ronnie Elba.

Clausen also works as a voice actor ; he was in the feature films Django Unchained (director: Quentin Tarantino , 2012) as Rodney and Der Medicus (director: Philipp Stölzl , 2013).

Clausen lives in Berlin .
