Klaus Wildbolz (born August 25, 1937 in Vienna , Austria ; † January 4, 2017 there ) was an actor with Swiss citizenship. He became known through numerous series on German-speaking television.

Life

Klaus Wildbolz came from a long-established family in the city of Bern . The Berner as commandant during the country strikes in 1918 became known Eduard Wildbolz was his grandfather . His father was the general manager of the Bally shoe factory Georg Wildbolz . He grew up together with his twin brother Jost, who as a photographer in Switzerland , lives in Austria and Switzerland. Before he studied music and performing arts at the Max Reinhardt Seminar in Vienna , he completed a commercial training and did military service in the Swiss Army .

After an engagement at the Theater in der Josefstadt in Vienna , he became known to a wide audience in the 1970s through the moderation of the ARD television quiz Schnickschnack . He had many leading roles in television series such as in Schlosshotel Orth , Ringstrasse Palace , Hotel Paradies and Der Bergdoktor . He also played guest roles in crime series such as Der Kommissar , Der Alte , Derrick . In 1996 he acted as an investigator in the Tatort episode Mein ist die Rache , directed by Houchang Allahyari with Fritz Karl and Andrea Händler .

He often took part in classic car races with his twin brother . His first marriage was to his colleague Christiane Pauli , then to a bank clerk and his third marriage to assistant director Barbara Matula, who died of cancer in 2008.

He then lived with Nadine von Vöhren from Hamburg until his death. He last lived in the Hietzing part of Vienna's 13th district. Klaus Wildbolz died on January 4, 2017 after a short illness in Vienna. His honorary grave is on the Hietzinger Friedhof in Vienna, group 65, row 4, grave no. 13. The grave was designed by the Viennese sculptor Wolfgang Karnutsch .
