Wolfgang Karnutsch

Wolfgang Karnutsch (born December 1, 1969 in Hallein ) is an Austrian sculptor who lives in Vienna and works in stone, bronze and wood. He is also a draftsman, graphic artist and illustrator.

education

After attending the Federal College for Wood and Stone Sculpture in Hallein, Karnutsch attended the advanced course for handicrafts in Innsbruck. In 1992 he was allowed to call himself “Austria's youngest master sculptor”. In 1987 Karnutsch was the main laureate of the European School Competition for Painting. Wolfgang Karnutsch has been working as a freelance artist since 1988, and in 1996 he moved to Vienna. Karnutsch has been President of the Artists' Association of Austrian Sculptors at Künstlerhaus Vienna since 2018 .

Works

Karnutsch's work comprises different areas of responsibility and materials. His commissions include portraits of Tobias Moretti , Martina Hörbiger , Marcel Prawy , and Lady Diana . Prominent graves are, for example, those of Klaus Wildbolz and Christine Nöstlinger .

Karnutsch works with partners from business, among others.

Projects were, for example, the World Wonder Exhibition in Schärding or the design of awards such as the Golden Coffee Bean from Jacobs, the Vienna Shopping Street Award , the Coral Fashion Award or the Golden Locke .

In 2017 Karnutsch illustrated the children's book "Wilma and the Christ Child".
