Emergence

Unveiling of the monument

The idea for the first Princess Diana Memorial in German-speaking countries came from the Austrian reporter and media scientist Ewald Wurzinger , who wanted to pay tribute to the deceased princess with a memorial made of marble. It was designed by the Viennese sculptor Wolfgang Karnutsch . The project was financed by private funds, so supporters could immortalize themselves on a plaque. The Diana Memorial was unveiled by the Austrian TV presenter Barbara Karlich and the Austrian actress Dagmar Koller in autumn 2013 at Cobenzl Castle in the 19th district of Döbling . In March 2017 the Diana bust moved from Cobenzl to the public park of a Caritas nursing home on Schönbrunner Strasse , near the famous castle .

description

The memorial consists of an oversized bust made of Lasa marble and an approximately two meter high base in which a white plaque is integrated.
