Ewald Wurzinger

Ewald Simon Wurzinger (born February 12, 1987 in Graz ) is an Austrian journalist , farmer and initiator and owner of the Princess Diana Memorial in Vienna .

Life

Wurzinger grew up on his parents' farm in Fehring in Styria. He attended the Francisco Josephinum in Wieselburg in Lower Austria , studied media studies at the Karl-Franzens-University in Graz and from 2008 worked as a journalist and reporter, first as a radio and later as a TV editor at ORF Lower Austria. Since 2010 he has been working in the regional studio in Vienna as a reporter for Radio Vienna and the TV show Vienna today . Wurzinger interviewed Lionel Richie , Katie Melua , Arnold Schwarzenegger, and Tito and Jackie Jackson for the station .

As head of duty , Ewald Wurzinger has also been responsible for radio broadcast planning here since 2015. He is also the host of the weekly program “People in Conversation” and is part of the traffic editorial team.

Since 2019, Wurzinger has been responsible for current radio reporting in the ORF “Religion” department and designs reports for Radio Ö1 , journals and news programs on ORF radio. He is also the editor of the program "Religion aktuell".

Ewald Wurzinger has also been reporting on political, economic and social issues and events from Vienna and London as a correspondent for the Italian Rai since 2019 .

Wurzinger caused a stir in the media in 2013 when he had a memorial to the late British Princess Diana erected on a private initiative . The oversized bust made of Lasa marble and the memorial plaque were created by the Viennese sculptor Wolfgang Karnutsch and presented for the first time in 2014 in front of the Kensington Palace . In his master's thesis , Wurzinger dealt scientifically with Diana and her relationship to the media.

Ewald Wurzinger is the godfather of Domenica Lawson, the last baptized child of the Princess of Wales. In an interview, he described the sponsorship as the most beautiful inheritance from Diana.

In order to counteract the milk price crisis and to create more awareness for farm produce, Ewald Wurzinger founded the startup "Kuh4You" on his farm in 2015.

Wurzinger is a member of the Austrian-British Society and lives in Vienna and Styria.
