Caribbean is the title of a German-Austrian romance film from 2008 . The television film is the ninth part of the film series Das Traumhotel .

General manager Markus Winter travels to the Dominican Republic to visit the luxury hotel owned by his Siethoff Group there. This is also where Markus' godson Sebastian Sellmann arrives, who gave his decisive and strict father, the businessman Dr. Norbert Sellmann, wants to escape and go his own way. Sebastian gets a job at the hotel from Markus and soon turns out to be a talented event manager. He forges delicate bonds with the local singer Maria and spends romantic days with her. The relationship is put to the test when Sebastian learns that Maria is a simple cigar-maker and not the wealthy girl she played for him. Disappointed, he wants to leave the Dominican Republic again with his father, who has now arrived. However, Markus manages to fix the breach of trust between Maria and Sebastian and to keep the young man for his hotel.
Martha Seliger and her little granddaughter Eva are also in the dream hotel. Martha represents her ailing daughter and feels so far from home more than insecure. In contrast, Eva quickly finds her way around the new environment and makes friends with Leonel, the son of a local fisherman. At a favorable opportunity, he steals Martha's money to help his family in need. Markus and Martha take care of Leonel's family together when they learn of their situation.
The aging Ferry wants to spend a relaxing time in the Dominican Republic with his young friend Daniela. Ferry also invited Daniela's mother Gabriele on the trip. Ferry and Daniela soon discover that their interests do not necessarily match each other due to their age. However, Ferry gets on better and better with Gabriele and Daniela does her best to make her mother happy.

The dream hotel - Caribbean was filmed from February 14th to March 6th, 2007 in the Dominican Republic. Christoph Birkner created the costumes and Walter Dreier designed the production . The film premiered on January 11, 2008 on Das Erste .
