Guest room theater Gößnitz

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Gaststubentheater Gößnitz is an amateur theater group from Maria Lankowitz in western Styria.

A characteristic of the Gaststubentheater Gößnitz is that each performance changes to a different location, primarily to tranquil country inns. As a result, every performance is a unique experience, which is further enhanced by the unusual backdrop of the cozy guest rooms. When selecting the pieces, particular care is taken to play unusual and socially critical theater and to stand out from other comedies. The actors, all of whom are very closely associated with the idyllic community of Gößnitz (community of Maria Lankowitz) , would like to add a new, distinctive facet to the familiar, local amateur theater with their idiosyncratic productions. In particular, with the co-production of Operation Wolfshaut with the Theater im Bahnhof , with which the guest room theater was represented at the Styrian Autumn 2013 theater festival , the group gained notoriety beyond its Styrian borders.

Hauswirth attracted attention at the Steirischer Herbst with the production Operation Wolfshaut . With Peter Rosegger's Erdsegen , the theater group directed by Jürgen Gerger achieved another success in 2017, before the in-house production Max Schilling was currently able to premiere in 2020 under the direction of Felix Hafner .
