Sri Lanka is the title of a German-Austrian love film from 2010 . The television film is the 14th part of the film series Das Traumhotel .

action

Lara Grothe has taken a job as a service worker in the luxury hotel of the Siethoff Group in Sri Lanka . Hotel manager Markus Winter quickly notices that Lara is not involved while she is working and learns that she is looking for a father and sister on the island whom she has not seen since childhood. Markus smuggles Lara into Thilo Krüger's tea plantation, because, confirmed by an old photo, he suspects Thilo to be his father. In fact, Lara finds her father and sister Nora on the plantation and falls in love with the manager Simon Kern. While Nora is very happy about the new sister, Thilo still has to come to terms with the past before he embraces her.

Nadja Bülow would like to come to terms with the death of her beloved husband in Sri Lanka, with whom she spent her last happy holiday here. Markus Winter brings the grieving Nadja together with the emigrant Leon Groß, who runs a farm for orphaned elephants on the island. Soon there is more than affection between Nadja and Leon and Nadja finally decides to start a new life with Leon.

An eccentric hotel guest introduces himself as the famous millionaire Gregor Pohlmann. He enjoys the luxury offers of the hotel and impresses the ladies in the form of his friends Monika Golz and Lisbeth Harzer with his generosity. For Markus, the guest is immediately suspicious and it actually turns out that he is the chauffeur Kurt Gramlich, who travels under the name of his deceased boss. Gramlich initially seems unable to pay his bills. Fortunately, Pohlmann gave him generous consideration in his will.

The dream hotel - Sri Lanka was filmed in Sri Lanka from February 16 to March 20, 2009. Heidi Melinc created the costumes and Walter Dreier designed the production . The film premiered on January 22nd, 2010 on Das Erste .

criticism

Tittelbach.tv commented on Sri Lanka in 2018as follows: “[…] Of course, the 90-minute trip to Sri Lanka never comes close to great television art, nobody expects that. The films should be an excursion from everyday life and show beautiful people how they can get their not-too-dramatic dramas under control; [...] "
