Karl Fischer (born December 8, 1956 in Ybbs an der Donau ) is an Austrian actor .

Life

Karl Fischer completed his training as an actor at the Max Reinhardt Seminar in Vienna from 1979 to 1983 . A first engagement at the Landestheater Tübingen was followed by engagements at the stages of the city of Cologne , the Theater Bonn , the Schauspiel Frankfurt and the Residenztheater Munich . In 1992, Fischer moved to the Vienna Burgtheater , where he played under renowned directors such as Claus Peymann , Paulus Manker , Ruth Berghaus and George Tabori until 1999.

In 2001, Fischer was nominated for the German Television Prize in the category of best actor in a supporting role in Torsten C. Fischer's Der Briefbomber .

In 2004 he played the killer Karl Auer in the 6th episode of Trautmann (TV series) and the killer Max in Wolfgang Murnberger's satire Silentium , the Austrian competition entry at the Berlinale .

He became known to a broad television audience as Sergente Lorenzo Vianello in the ARD crime series Donna Leon . He also had a small guest role in the Austrian television series Der Winzerkönig .

Karl Fischer is married to his colleague Susi Stach .
