The Dream Hotel - In love with Mauritius

Stars over Thailand is a German-Austrian love story by Otto Retzer from 2004 . The television film is the first part of the series Das Traumhotel .

action

Hotel manager Markus Winter retired to Thailand after separating from his wife. There he wants to deal with the pain of separation and helps a friend out as a boatman. However, his aunt Dorothea von Siethoff, owner of a hotel empire and passionate hobby astrologer , has other plans for him. She persuades Markus to temporarily take over the management of her dream hotel on Phuket . Franz Vogler, previously director of this hotel, is to be replaced because he has recently missed some major contracts. As it soon turns out, he has personal problems. After many years he has found his daughter, who was believed to be lost, who once ran away with a man and now lives in Bangkok with two young daughters . However, she refuses any contact with her father.

Surprisingly, Markus' daughter Leonie turns up on Phuket, with an acquaintance from the plane, the backpacker and guitar player Niko , in tow . Markus has little time to look after them and has to leave this to Simon Vogler at times. This allows Niko, who has meanwhile been robbed and therefore destitute, to spend a night in Leonie's hotel room - initially not to the delight of Markus.

Ariane and Jan Thermölen, hotel guests, spend their vacation on Phuket. Their marriage is in crisis, because Jan seems to care more about his business than about his wife. Both had lost a child a few years ago, which placed additional strain on the relationship. In his sensitive way, Markus ensures that they find each other again. Jan now learns that Ariane is pregnant.

The young teacher Helen is not happy at first either. In her awkward way, she gets from one dilemma to the next, until Markus and Leonie intervene. Helen is transformed from a wallflower into a princess and wins the heart of pop promoter Daniel Lewy.

Markus Winter tracks down Simon Vogler's daughter on a business trip to Bangkok. He persuades her to go back to her father. At the end of the episode, she introduces his little granddaughters to the overjoyed grandfather.
