Ralf Bauer (born September 12, 1966 in Karlsruhe ) is a German actor .

Life

From 1988 to 1990 he attended the Stage School of Dance and Drama in Hamburg. He then moderated the children's program Disney Club from 1991 to 1993 together with Antje Pieper and Stefan Pinnow . From 1995 to 1999 he played a leading role in the surf series Gegen den Wind . In 1997, Bauer won the Bronze Golden Cable for best television newcomer. In 2007 he played a major supporting role in the episodes Friendly Fire and What Lies Beneath of the series Painkiller Jane , which runs on the American SciFi Channel . In the episodes of the English-language series he plays the role of Dr. Baumgartner, who also has German sentences to say and can change his shape into that of any other person.

He also published five DVDs on yoga . In 2008 Ralf Bauer published his book Yoga - Unterwegs zu mir about the philosophy of Tibetan yoga. The accompanying DVD was released under the title Mein Sonnengruß . His best-known quote from it is a principle from Tibetan medicine: "Try to maintain health and not have to cure illness."

Outside of his acting activities, Bauer campaigns for the rights of Tibetans in Tibet and in the countries of exile.

In 2015 he danced with Oana Nechiti in the RTL dance show Let's Dance , which he left after the seventh episode due to illness.

From June 27th to September 6th 2015 he was seen at the Karl May Games in Bad Segeberg alongside Jan Sosniok and Barbara Wussow in the role of Old Firehand .

In October 2019, the Eric Dean Hordes film Goblin was released. In it, Bauer plays the mayor of Baden-Baden alongside Helmut Krauss and Billie Zöckler .

Together with Bavarian musicians, cabaret artists and authors, Bauer has been involved since 2007 as part of the “very young. very old. all ears ”.
