Klara von Sellin and Richard von Salomon are newly married when Klara learns that she is pregnant by another man who raped her . Her friend thinks an abortion is the right decision, but Klara really wants to have the child because she is sure that this will not change her love for Richard and that Richard will see the child as his own. On a safari , Klara summons her courage and tells Richard about the rape.

Production notes
The colonial two-part series was shot by a 120-strong film team in Namibia from mid-July to the end of September 1998 , and the shooting lasted three months.
Walter Sittler shot the first time with his daughter Jennifer Sittler, who also played the daughter of the film as Maris von Salomon in this two-parter.

The first broadcast of the multi-part series took place on January 6, 2000 in the ZDF program , which was followed by 6.5 million viewers, which corresponded to a market share of almost 18%.
The two-parter was released on DVD on April 26, 2019 at Pidax Film- und Hörspielverlag (playing time: 176 minutes).
