Evelyn Holst

Evelyn Holst (* 1952 in Hamburg ) is a German journalist and author .

Life

Evelyn Holst made in 1972 at the High School Lerchenfeld her high school and then studied history and English to teachers . After her first state examination, she worked as a reporter for stern for 13 years , including five years as a correspondent in New York . She currently writes a column "only for women" in the picture every Saturday .

In 1983 she was awarded the Egon Erwin Kisch Prize for her work, It has become so quiet with us in the star . The award-winning report, which deals with the accidental death of a seven-year-old girl and the consequences for parents and those who caused accidents, later became the subject of a comparative work on gender-specific writing in journalism.

After leaving the star , she wrote numerous novels , most of which deal with so-called women's issues in a catchy way. Some of her books have also been made into films. In addition to her novels, she also wrote a number of original screenplays for television films, including for the ZDF multi-part series Die Wüstenrose .

Holst lives with her family in Hamburg.
