Helmut Zierl (born October 6, 1954 in Meldorf ) is a German actor and voice actor .

life and career

From 1972 to 1975 he attended the Hildburg Frese drama studio in Hamburg . After graduating, he played theater for seven years. He was a permanent member of the ensemble at the Landesbühne Hannover (1975–1978) and the Thalia Theater in Hamburg. There he worked with directors such as Peter Beauvais , Karl Paryla , Dieter Wedel and Klaus Emmerich . At the Dresden Zwinger Festival in 2011 he was seen in The Mistress of the King by John van Düffel . From January to March 2012 he was on a theater tour in Germany with The Truth by Florian Zeller . From May to July 2012 he played in the comedy Winterhuder Fährhaus Gut gegen Nordwind by Daniel Glattauer .

Since 1982 he worked mainly as a television actor. He played leading roles in over 70 television games, including literary adaptations by Siegfried Lenz , Eduard von Keyserling and Walter Kempowski . He got his own series and was the leading actor in the series Max Wolkenstein , Red Light , Table and Bed , Zoff and Tenderness , Florida Lady , A man stands his wife , Flight to Hell and the Sonnenfeld family . In addition, there were several main episode roles in series and series such as Tatort , Der Alte , Siska , Ein Fall für Zwei , Das Traumschiff , Schwarz Rot Gold , Medicopter 117 - Every Life Counts , Sylt Stories etc. He participated in three films and was featured in various radio plays - and audio book productions ( Great Expectations by Charles Dickens , Juliet, Naked by Nick Hornby , Pompeii by Robert Harris , various fairy tales).

Helmut Zierl was married to the actress Christine Zierl for 14 years until 2001 and has two sons with her. He lived with Saskia Valencia for ten years until December 2011. He lives in Lütjensee in Schleswig-Holstein .
