Black Coffee is the title of the 7th episode of the TV series Black Red Gold . It is about circumventing the world coffee trade agreement .

action

The world coffee trade agreement stipulates that the Federal Republic of Germany may only import coffee from the member states of this agreement. This is done to protect the farmers in these countries. However, coffee from non-member countries is significantly cheaper, which means that profit margins are higher on illegal imports.

Coffee wholesaler Bissinger has already received fines several times for violating customs regulations. Customs officer Zaluskowski is this punishment too lax. He is investigating Bissinger, although his authority rejects it. Bissinger is busy with two larger transactions: He sells coffee from Ecuador to Poland with the help of a Swiss partner. He also delivers empty coffee sacks with Philippine labels to Poland in order to later reintroduce coffee from Ecuador as Philippine coffee. In the second transaction, coffee from Brazil is delivered to Paraguay and from there - declared as Paraguayan coffee - imported to Germany. Zaluskowski and his men were able to identify the Paraguayan papers as forged and also uncover his Swiss partner.
