Gernot Endemann
Gernot Endemann (born July 24, 1942 in Essen ; † June 29, 2020 in Hanover ) was a German actor and voice actor .
Life
After finishing school, Gernot Endemann completed a commercial apprenticeship, then he trained as an actor for three years at the Folkwang University in Essen .
Career
stage
At first he worked as a stage actor at the Theater Oberhausen , the Stadttheater Rheydt , the stages of the city of Cologne and the Ernst-Deutsch-Theater in Hamburg . In 1966 he played Peterchen in the Christmas fairy tale Peterchens Mondfahrt at the Bremen Theater. Until 1984 he worked at the Hamburger Kammerspiele , where he played Beckmann in Outside in front of the door .

He was discovered for television by director John Olden . He starred in many television films. He became known to a larger audience from 1965 through his role in the series The Despicable One as the son Rudi of Käte Scholz, played by Inge Meysel . In 1974 he played the German flying ace Hans Meister in the successful early evening series Die Grashüpfer . In the 1970s he played the father of a family in the short films about the Sauer family in Sesame Street . From 1986 to 1998 he was active as Schorsch in Sesame Street for a long time , first together with Hildegard Krekel , later with Kirsten Sprick .

Gernot Endemann was also known as a speaker in radio plays . His best known and most successful role was that of Major Hoffmann in the series Commander Perkins .
family
Endemann was married to the actress Reinhilt Schneider . The couple have two sons together: Jannik Endemann is also a radio play and voice actor , while Till Endemann works as a director and author in the film industry. Endemann has two daughters with his second wife, the French actress Jocelyne Boisseau ; his daughter Alicia Endemann is an actress, singer and voice actress. From 2009 Endemann was married to his fellow actor Sabine Schmidt-Kirchner and lived with her in Hanover. He died on June 29, 2020 at the age of 77.
