Peter Ehrlich
Peter Ehrlich (born March 25, 1933 in Leipzig ; † July 26, 2015 in Zollikerberg ) was a German actor and director .
Life
After graduating from high school, Ehrlich began studying theater , German , journalism and philosophy at the Free University of Berlin . As a result of his dedicated involvement in the student stage there, his professional focus finally shifted entirely to acting. He took professional acting lessons from Horst Caspar and Hildegart Klingspor and received stage engagements a. a. in Berlin (1952–1956), Hamburg, at the Schauspielhaus Zurich , in Schleswig, Ulm and Wiesbaden. In addition, he gave guest performances a. a. at the Thalia Theater in Hamburg, the Burgfestspiele Jagsthausen and at the Ruhrfestspiele in Recklinghausen. Ehrlich not only worked as an actor, but also as a director .
In addition, the mime with the distinctive voice and high forehead has repeatedly taken on roles in film and television productions since the 1960s . He played u. a. in the Pater Brown film adaptation He can't stop (with Heinz Rühmann ), with Klaus Kammer and Sigurd Fitzek , directed by Fritz Umgelter in Whoever eats out of a tin bowl , in Durbridge - street sweeper A man named Harry Brent , in Volker Schlöndorffs Drama Die Moral der Ruth Halbfass , in the crime comedy Dollarrausch (with Donald Sutherland ), Tom Toelle's multi-part television series Deutschlandlied and made guest appearances in numerous television series and series such as Der Kommissar , Derrick , Der Alte , Tatort and Polizeiruf 110 . He played an important leading role in 1975 as an opponent of Martin Benrath in the movie Berlinger .
He was also involved in many radio play productions , such as Tom Bombadil in Bernd Lau's 1991 radio play version of The Lord of the Rings .
Peter Ehrlich died on July 26, 2015 at the age of 82 in Zollikerberg. His grave is in the Zumikon cemetery in the canton of Zurich ,
