Doemens
Doemens is the name of a private training and consulting institute for the brewing , beverage and food industry , which among other things offers training as a brewing and malt master , which can be completed with an examination at the competent chamber of crafts.
The institute, which is currently based in Graefelfing near Munich, was named after Albert Doemens , the founder of the “1. Münchner Brauer Akademie ” , which was the forerunner of today's company. At the same time as the Brewers Academy , Doemens founded the " Association of active and former students of the Munich Brewers Academy " , which today is known as the "Bund der Doemensianer e. V. ” publishes the specialist journal “ Der Doemensianer ” distributed by Sachon Verlag every quarter .
Today's company is based on the non-profit association of the Doemens School ( Doemens eV ) founded in 1965 . In 1980 a teaching and test brewery with a capacity of five hectoliters and a small filling and packaging plant were set up to promote practical teaching . In the same year, the training was expanded to include a four- semester technical school. Doemens has been officially recognized as a specialist academy since 1992 . The Doemens Academy GmbH offers advanced training opportunities in the form of seminars on topics from the areas of food technology such as malting , brewery and beverage technology , systems and electrical engineering as well as quality control and assurance in various languages. The English-language training is organized by the World Brewing Academy , which has existed as a cooperation between Doemens and the Siebel Institute in Chicago since 2013.
In addition, under the name Doemens Technikum for production companies , the GmbH cites chemical-technical , microbiological and sensory tests of raw materials , intermediate and end products . As part of its brewery activities, Doemens has an extensive collection of yeasts and is one of the four most important yeast banks in Germany.
