Lisa Roth's life revolves around her relatives: her friend, the painter René, her mother Ruth and her son Jörg. When she catches her boyfriend with another woman, she moves in with her gay friend Simon. He works as a porter at the Park Hotel in Vitznau and gives Lisa a job as a maid. If mishap, it causes expensive damage. In order to pay for this, she and Gabriella Schneider, who she met at the hotel, began to cheat on the rich hotel guests. They use lies to collect donations for good causes, but keep the money to themselves.
Lisa falls in love with one of her victims, the entrepreneur Martin Brodmann. He also falls in love with her. Nevertheless, Lisa manages to convince him and transfer a large amount of money to Gabriella Schneider's account. Because Lisa is plagued by a guilty conscience, she asks Martin to cancel the transfer. Martin does that and leaves for New York.
The next day, Lisa learned from the hotel manager that the insurance company would cover the financial consequences of her mishap. He offers her a job as head of the bar. At Christmas, Martin Brodmann comes disguised as Santa Claus, after which everything turns for the better.
