Sima Beatrice Bürgin

Sima Beatrice Bürgin (* 1968 in Zurich ) is an actress and ballet dancer who is not only German, but also Swiss and Iranian.

Life

Sima Beatrice Bürgin grew up in Switzerland as the daughter of an American mother and a Persian father. As a 4-year-old she was on stage in Rosmarie Metzenthin 's children's and youth theater in Zurich. Before she even started school, Bürgin received ballet and acrobatics lessons as well as violin and piano lessons and made her first appearances.

Contrary to her intention to study medicine, after graduating from high school, Sima Beatrice Bürgin decided to train at the State Ballet Institute in Budapest using the Waganowa method . Performances have taken her to Geneva, Frankfurt, Stuttgart and Ulm, among others. In Munich she was seen in many ballet and opera productions at the Bavarian State Opera there until 1995. Further stations in her stage career were the Salzburg Festival and the Residenztheater in Munich in 1994 .

Following a two-year course at the Frankfurt University of Music and Performing Arts (1983/1984), she made her television debut in 1985 in Franz-Josef Wild's television play Das Unexpected Happiness . In 1994 Sönke Wortmann hired her for his film The Moving Man . In the same year, Sima Beatrice Bürgin completed a Hollywood Acting Workshop in Los Angeles and then began a three-year acting course at the European Film Actor School in Zurich with Margarethe von Trotta , which she successfully completed in 1997. Since then she has appeared in a number of television films and series, such as Ein Fall für Zwei or SOKO 5113 .

In 2001 and 2002, Sima Beatrice Bürgin worked as house spokeswoman for the Swiss television broadcaster DRS , where she was responsible for the areas of promotion / design , current culture and education . Furthermore, she has been working extensively as a spokesperson in advertising since 2003.

In 2009 she completed the MAS (Master of Advanced Studies) in the field of “Dance Pedagogy” at the Zurich University of the Arts , then taught there as a guest lecturer in the subject “Pre-Ballet” and since 2013 has been a lecturer for the preliminary studies and the subject “ Intercultural Competence". Sima Beatrice Bürgin also works in various dance and gymnastics studios as a dance teacher and Pilates trainer, teaching her own training method "Body Line & Pilates". She has also been a guest lecturer in Pilates since 2010 at the “Medrelax Professional”, a specialist school for relaxation medicine in Zurich.

Private

Sima Beatrice Bürgin is a follower of Nichiren Daishonin's Buddhism . Since 1981 she has been a member of Sōka Gakkai International (value-creating society for peace, culture and education) and plays the violin in the local orchestra. She lives in Berlin, Zurich and Los Angeles with her three adult children, who are also artistically active.
