European Film Actor School

The European Film Actor School AG (EFAS), based in Zurich, is the oldest film and acting school in Europe, which has been training young talents for a later field of activity in the media of film and television since 1990.

Directors such as Dominik Graf , Vivian Naefe , Margarethe von Trotta , Dagmar Hirtz , Magdalena Łazarkiewicz have repeatedly led the diploma seminar. The school leavers Joel Basman , Martin Rapold , Soraya Gomaa and Luna Wedler were honored as Shooting Stars at the Berlinale . In 2010 Uygar Tamer won the Swiss film prize “Quarz” in the category “Best Young Actress”. In 2012, Julienne Pfeil was nominated as “Best Young Actress” in German-speaking theater. Leonardo Nigro won the television film award in 2014, Sascha Gersak was voted best leading actor at the 2014 Berlinale by the German film critics, Joel Basman won the renowned “Lola” in 2015 for the “best acting male supporting role” in We are young, we are strong . Four EFAS graduates (Uygar Tamer, Eliane Iten, Peter Zgraggen and Alexandra Cardona) won the “Audience Award” for Heroes at the “Locarno Film Festival” .

By 2018, graduates had won a total of 60 national and international film and television awards.
