Iris Junik
Iris Junik (born August 26, 1968 in Wolfen , † March 29, 2009 in Munich ) was a German actress .
Life and education
At the age of eight, Junik was already playing in a theater group, at 14 she began a wandering life through the GDR with another theater group, but at the same time completed her schooling. After graduating from high school, she was refused to study drama because she had resisted taking part in the so-called civil defense . That is why Junik initially worked for a year as an assistant director at the Theater von Altenburg , and later - also as an assistant director - at Berlin theaters.
The day after the fall of the Berlin Wall , she moved to West Berlin and began studying theater and Hispanic studies . During her time at the European Film Actor School in Zurich , she received a grant from the Pierino Ambrosoli Foundation in the field of film in 1991/1992. Since 1993 she has appeared mainly in series but also in full-length films on German television.
In May 2009 it became known from her family that she had already died on March 29, 2009 in Munich. She had been terminally ill with Sudeck's disease .
