Johannes Brandrup (born January 7, 1967 in Frankfurt am Main ) is a German actor .

Life

At the age of 17 Johannes Brandrup attended the United World College of the Atlantic in Wales and graduated with the International Baccalaureate . After doing community service in Wiesbaden, he attended the Folkwang University in Essen, where he finished his acting studies in 1992. He then took on an engagement at the Deutsches Theater in Göttingen . Today he lives in Berlin and directs the Berlin box theater. Brandrup was married to the writer and director Branwen Okpako since 1991 and has two children with her. In 2008 the couple divorced.

Act

Johannes Brandrup was the first commissioner of the television series Alarm für Cobra 11 - Die Autobahnpolizei . However, Brandrup was only seen in the first nine episodes, since then he has played leading roles in many German and international productions such as B. Paul of Tarsus , Wild Years , Lo Smemorato di Collegno , Love on Hold , Dangerous Proximity , The Crusaders , Mafalda di Savoia , Valley of the Clueless and Al di là delle frontiere . At the side of Omar Sharif , he embodied Jesus in St. Peter. His most important theater roles were Gregor Samsa in Franz Kafka's The Metamorphosis in the Bavarian State Theater and the title role in Hugo von Hofmannsthal's Jedermann in the Schwäbisch Hall open-air theater .

For the cultural city of Europe Weimar 1999 Brandrup staged Mercy! Too late !, Wolfgang Deichsels Frankenstein .

Brandrup is the founder of the first digital theater on the net, the Berliner Logentheater , which u. a. initiated the Web 2.0 competition “Actors On Sets”, but also produced plays.

From 2014 to 2015 he was in the ARD telenovela Rote Rosen as the scheming Dr. Maurice Greve can be seen in the role of the antagonist.
