Mauer des Schweigens is a television film from the crime series Tatort which was produced by Hessischer Rundfunk (HR) and broadcast for the first time on September 24, 2000 in the program Das Erste . action
Henning Wentz is expected by a friend in his villa in the evening. When leaving the bank building, he is approached by Frank Mosbach, whom he abruptly refuses. The friend hears noises in the villa and is looking forward to the meeting with an open champagne. Then he finds Wentz lying dead on the floor with a head wound. Completely upset, he leaves the villa and drives away on his bike.
The next morning the housekeeper finds Wentz's body. The forensics department discovered a crumpled piece of paper in his coat with the note: “SCHÜTZE WILL OVERLOOK RISK !!! BASIC SAMPLE NOVEMBER BÖHME 354 “. Wife Claudia had been living apart from her husband for some time and tried to avoid the questions. She sends the inspectors to the “Ballroom” variety theater. Its owner, Frank Mosbach, they meet in his house with friend Linn Tenhoven. Mosbach's jaw drops when he learns of the murder of Henning Wentz.
In terms of business, Wentz and his bank had prepared the IPO of "Westpharm". Their boss, Matthias Gutzkow, made serious allegations to the commissioners for a lack of sensitivity towards Claudia Wentz. In the press she is already being treated as a suspect and claims that she has no alibi for the time of the crime. Only Gutzkow and Claudia's parents knew this at the time. Mosbach admits that he spoke to Wentz in front of the bank that evening and later noticed someone in his bedroom.
The nameless friend from the villa wants to help Claudia Wentz and meet her on the Feldberg in the tower. On arrival she finds him there killed with a headshot. Suddenly Gutzkow is there, who originally wanted to go there with Claudia.
Mr. Böhme from the management consultancy Schütze-Werdent explains to the investigators that the note gives indications of contaminated sites of "Westpharm", the disposal of which will cause great costs and make the IPO impossible. Gutzkow had to switch off the "Wentz risk".
