The Korea National League trophy in 2016 was the 12th edition of the football - cup competition for South Korean club teams of the Korea National League . Only 10 teams from the Korea National League take part in this tournament. The defending champion was Daejeon Korail FC .

The cup tournament started on June 1, 2016 and ended on June 14, 2016.

All 10 National League teams were divided into two groups of 5 teams each. The best two from both groups qualified for the semi-finals. The winners of the semi-finals played for the cup in the final.
