Dieter Kirchlechner
Dieter Kirchlechner (born January 21, 1932 in Pinkafeld ) is an Austrian actor , screenwriter and director .

Dieter Kirchlechner attended the Otto Falckenberg School from 1953 and trained as an actor there. After an engagement at the theater of the city of Essen, he worked on Munich theaters, including the Bavarian State Theater in Munich (before 1962, 1975) and the Münchner Kammerspiele (1962–1971). Between 1964 and 1968 he was a member of the ensemble of the Berlin Schaubühne on Halleschen Ufer, he also appeared at numerous theaters such as the Hamburg Thalia Theater , the Freie Volksbühne Berlin and the theaters in Vienna and Zurich .
Dieter Kirchlechner worked closely with the director Fritz Kortner and was a. a. seen in roles in classic stage works by Shakespeare and Büchner . Many other directors such as August Everding , Hans Schweikart , Jürgen Flimm , Rudolf Noelte , Axel von Ambesser , Peter Stein and Otto Schenk worked with Kirchlechner. He also proved his ability in modern performances, including pieces by Martin Sperr , Henrik Ibsen , Ödön von Horváth and Thomas Bernhard .
Since the early 1960s, Kirchlechner has increasingly emerged as a film and television actor. He regularly had roles in television crime novels such as Der Alte , Ein Fall für Zwei , Wolffs Revier or Tatort , and he was also repeatedly present in films and series. He often played villains or mysterious characters and often embodied people of "better society". To this day he can often be seen in film and television roles, but does not neglect his involvement in the theater.
With sophisticated literary adaptations , he convinced among others in The Caucasian Chalk Circle by Bertolt Brecht , in Shakespeare's Hamlet, the Sherlock Holmes film The Sign of Four or Axel Eggebrechts documentaries The Putsch ; Kirchlechner also took part in the Buddenbrooks film based on Thomas Mann .
Kirchlechner has also appeared in international cinema productions, including in Fritz Umgelter's Alle Sins der Erde (1958), Wilm ten Haafs You belong to me (1959) with Barbara Rütting and Peter van Eyck , in Walter Grauman's war drama I Deal In Danger (1966) in Bernhard Wicki's Herburger film version The Conquest of the Citadel (1977). Also in Sönke Wortmann's graduation film Drei D (1988), Volker Schlöndorff's Max Frisch film version Homo Faber (1991), Hilde Bechert's crime satire Zurich - Transit (1992), Sönke Wortmann's comedy Mr. Bluesman (1993), Charles Matton's light of the extinct Sterne (1994), Alexandre Arcady's thriller K (1997) and together with Ulrich Tukur in Eric Tills Bonhoeffer - The Last Step (2000). The film tells the story of the clergyman Dietrich Bonhoeffer , who was killed as a resistance fighter by Hitler's henchmen.
He has worked as a director at the Bayerisches Staatsschauspiel , the Hamburg Thalia Theater and the Wiener Schauspielhaus . He staged Arthur Miller's Death of a Salesman for Swiss television . Kirchlechner lives with his wife, the actress Monika Schwarz , in Starnberg and Berlin .
