action

Spike is a musician who, as additional income, z. Sometimes smuggles stolen cars. He is also called Mr. Bluesman because he loves the blues more than anything. One day he is supposed to smuggle a Mercedes-Benz into Genoa . However, he gets the wrong car that belongs to the Mafia around boss Hormann , Bronski and the newcomer Lentz , who is in direct competition with Bronski. The mafia wanted to smuggle plutonium by car . So she tries to get the car back at any cost.

On the drive to Genoa, Spike takes the hitchhiker Chloe with him, who is fleeing from her rich father. Again and again she tries to steal his car - which she also manages - to drive to Milan . Spike retrieves the car every time, but also saves Chloe when she is raped by a gas station attendant . Meanwhile they are harassed by the mafia. In the parking lot of the motorway service station , which belongs to Spike's friend Emma , they are attacked by two mafiosi, who are shot by Bronski after he was released by Hormann. The two then work with Bronski, who wants to give them his reward for the transport when they bring the car to Italy . Once there, there is a showdown when the goods are handed over. Lentz - accompanied by Hormann - shoots Bronski because Spike has built a trap (his trucker friends are blocking the exit) and takes Spike hostage . Shortly before his death , Bronski manages to shoot Lentz so that Spike survives.

After two months, Spike's greatest wish is fulfilled: Chloe has invited BB King and they play a piece together. The whereabouts and the sum of the money (the reward from the plutonium trade) are not mentioned.

reception

The film flopped in theaters.

"Amusing mix of crime thriller and love story."

- Cinema.de

"Action-packed, but not very original crime and romance comedy that shows a feeling for rhythm and movement, but only draws its characters carelessly and superficially."

"Since" Alone Among Women "and" Kleine Haie ", Sönke Wortmann has been one of the most prominent German directors when it comes to unconventional, relaxed entertainment. In his latest charming comedy, Wortmann star Thomas Heinze plays again, but for the first time there is an international cast at his side. "
