The wedding video is a German comedy film by Sönke Wortmann , which was released in German cinemas on May 10, 2012. The rental is from Constantin Film acquired. The wedding video celebrated its premiere on May 2, 2012 in Cologne's Cinedom .

The film begins before the wedding of Pia and Sebastian, who come from different backgrounds. Pia's parents are left-wing Alt-68ers and Sebastian comes from a conservative family with a nobility title. Both have only known each other for a few months.
While everything seems perfect at first, the time up to the wedding turns into a nightmare: Daniel, the groom's friend, and Despair, Pia's sister, film the entire celebration. At their bachelor party , Pia ends up with her friends at the police station after Pia's girlfriend was caught peeing wildly . Meanwhile, Sebastian gets a visit from Pia's ex-boyfriend, a porn actor.
When Pia is greeted by a naked stripper in Sebastian's apartment the next morning, Sebastian can only smooth things over with an oath that nothing happened the night before. During the oral sex that follows , Pia and Sebastian are disturbed by Pia's brother, which forces Sebastian to push Pia in such a way that she injures her cervical spine . Due to the accident, both of them arrive too late at the registry office, which is punctually closed by the responsible officer before the couple arrives.
On the eve Pia is through her accident and the neck brace irritated accordingly. The fact that Sebastian's parents can't get along with Pia, her origins and her intention to keep her maiden name does the rest. When Sebastian finally finds out about Pia's hitherto secret relationship with Carlos the club , a rift breaks out. The wedding is about to be canceled.
Meanwhile, Daniel and Pia's sister Despair try to persuade the registrar to sign the marriage certificate . When they film him masturbating to a video with romping dogs, they can get him a blank certificate in exchange for the recording.
At the church wedding , Sebastian first stands alone in front of the altar, until Pia appears in street clothes and still wants to marry him. Since Sebastian's family's traditional wedding rings have already been lost, the two get married with the closures of Coke cans. In order to finally finish off Sebastian's parents, he promises Pia to give up his name and take her name Schulz .

“This sympathetic no-name ensemble comedy is about lies and secrets. It is a sketch revue in the form of a nervous reality TV show with enthusiastic staff. The pictures are razor-sharp, bright and friendly, the pace is high, the editing fast and the music shoots in your feet. You would have loved to have been there at this wedding - as a guest, but not as a bride or groom. "
“With the found footage film , [...] a whole new genre has emerged in which the look and immediacy of amateur recordings are imitated for an impression of greater authenticity and intimacy. In the case of the party comedy ' Project X ' […], this recently succeeded in an elegant and illuminating way. This is exactly the effect that director Sönke Wortmann relies on with 'The Wedding Video', in which the method and topic are already summarized in the title. The fact that the formal premise of the comedy, which ostensibly consists exclusively of recordings from the friends of the bride and groom, is not implemented consistently is ultimately less important than the weaknesses in terms of content.
