Martin Aselmann

Martin Aselmann (* 1986 in Ostercappeln ) is a German actor .

Life

Martin Aselmann grew up in Kassel . He made his first acting attempts at school theater when he stepped in as Goliath for a sick classmate on the premiere day. In 8th grade he appeared on stage as Sancho Panza . From 2007 to 2011 he completed his acting studies at the "Ernst Busch" Academy of Dramatic Arts (HfS "Ernst Busch") in Berlin . During his studies he already appeared in various productions at the bat-Studiotheater Berlin .

From 2011 to 2015 he was a member of the acting ensemble at the Nationaltheater Mannheim . His first production at the Nationaltheater Mannheim was the title role in Georg Schmiedleitner's Don Karlos production for the Schillertage 2011. He worked there a. a. with the directors Cilli Drexel , Lisa Nielebock , Nora Schlocker , Calixto Bieito and Sebastian Schug . He had other leading roles as Orestes in Iphigenie auf Tauris (premiere: 2011/12 season, director: Lisa Nielebock), as Prince Sigismund in Das Leben ein Traum (premiere: 2012/13 season, director: Calixto Bieto), as judge Walter in Der zerbrochne Krug (premiere: 2012/13 season, director: Nora Schlocker), as Robespierre in Dantons Tod (premiere: 2012/13 season, director: Robert Teufel), as Jim O'Connor in Die Glasmenagerie (premiere: 2013 / 14, director: Sebastian Schug) and as Benedikt in Much Ado About Nothing (premiere: 2014/15 season, director: Sebastian Schug).

Aselmann has been working as a freelance actor since autumn 2015. In the 2015/16 season he appeared in the title role of the Orestes tragedy by Euripides at the Osnabrück Theater .

In the 2017/18 season he was engaged in several productions at the State Theater in Nuremberg . He played the cutter Schürzinger in Kasimir and Karoline (director: Georg Schmiedleitner) and was seen in the comedy Pension Schöller ; he was also Prince Dimitri Nekhludov in the Tolstoy adaptation Resurrection .

Aselmann also stood in front of the camera for several cinema and TV productions. Since 2016 he has been working increasingly for television. In Sönke Wortmann's film comedy The Wedding Video , which was released in German cinemas in May 2012, he played one of the leading roles as the groom's friend.

In the television movie Honey, let the chickens free (2017) he was, on the side of Katja Flint and Axel Milberg as parents, son Kai, who gave up his studies and become "penniless" director and producer in Paris by proposing . As an unreliable witness and as a forensic technician who secretly supports the inspector, he made two guest appearances in the ZDF crime series Marie Brand .

He also had episode roles in the TV series Club der rote Bänder (2017, as an emergency doctor), Notruf Hafenkante (2018, as a psychiatric expert), Pensionercops (2018, as a suspected biotechnologist) and The Public Prosecutor (2019, as a single father). In the opening episode of the 22nd season of the television series In All Friendship (2019), he had a leading role in the episode as an unemployed young man and the son of a patient who slipped into a deep depression after burnout .

Martin Aselmann lives in Cologne .
