Artus Maria Matthiessen

Artus Maria Matthiessen , also Artus M. Matthiessen , or Artus Matthiessen for short (* 1950 in Calw ) is a German actor .

life and career

Matthiesen's training as an actor took place between 1975 and 1978 at the Mozarteum in Salzburg and at the University of Music and Performing Arts in Stuttgart . As a theater actor, Matthiesen was seen for many years at the Schauspielhaus Düsseldorf and the Mainz State Theater .

Arthur Maria Matthiesen played in the 1980s in two crime scene films as a young police officer and took over in 1993 a small role as an SS commander in the Oscar-winning classic Schindler's List by Steven Spielberg . After appearing only occasionally in film and television productions for a long time, he was featured in many television series such as Tatort , Wilsberg , Der letzte Bulle , SOKO Stuttgart and Löwenzahn in the 2010s . His few cinema appearances include supporting roles in Sönke Wortmann's comedy The Wedding Video (2012) and in Christian Schwochow's literary adaptation Deutschstunde (2019). In addition, Matthiesen also works on radio plays.
