Michael Abendroth

Michael Abendroth (born January 29, 1948 in Hamburg ) is a German actor and theater director .

Life

Michael Abendroth grew up in Munich and received his acting training at the Salzburg Mozarteum . He had engagements at the Nationaltheater Mannheim , the Schauspiel Frankfurt , the Schauspielhaus Bochum , from 1992 to 1996 at the Staatstheater Mainz , at the Wiener Theater in der Josefstadt and at the Berliner Ensemble . In addition, Abendroth belonged to the ensemble of the Düsseldorf Schauspielhaus from 1976 to 1978 and from 1996 to 2009 . Since the 2016/17 season he has been a member of the ensemble at the Volkstheater Wien .

As a director, Abendroth staged the folk play Wallenstein in Altdorf at the Wallenstein Festival in Altdorf in 1988 and in the same year scenes from the Wallenstein trilogy under the title In Wallenstein's Camp , which were on the program until 1997. In 2000 he was responsible for the entire trilogy. Abendroth staged Sean O'Casey's The End from the Beginning at the Düsseldorfer Schauspielhaus .

Michael Abendroth made his debut in front of the camera in an episode of the court program How would you decide? in 1975. Since the beginning of the 2000s he can be seen regularly in numerous films and series such as Die Österreichische Methode , Buddenbrooks , SOKO Cologne , Danni Lowinski and various Tatort episodes on the screen. He worked with a number of well-known directors such as B. Ulrich Köhler , Dominik Graf , Lars Kraume , Christian Schwochow , Christoph Hochhäusler , Sönke Wortmann , Heinrich Breloer , Till Endemann , Florian Baxmeyer , Maris Pfeiffer , Connie Walther , Ralf Huettner , Michael Gutmann , Martin Eigler , Urs Egger , Tim Trageser , Uwe Janson , Manfred Stelzer and Markus Imboden together.

Michael Abendroth lives in Düsseldorf.
