action
The ex- Stasi employee and foreign exchange procurer Konrad Böhm invites the petty criminal Mike as his assistant. Mike is the son of his then "best friend" in the Stasi, who apparently died in an accident. Böhm would like to earn money with the pipeline construction from Russia to Europe and systematically brings down his competitors, but he is not approved for larger projects.
Mike learns more and more of his parents' past as a Stasi employee; his father appears to have been murdered. After all, his mother wants to report everything to the police.
criticism
“During his fiction debut, documentary filmmaker Marc Bauder bravely ventured into a field that has not been cultivated in this country: the political and economic drama that is based on research and facts. With figures that function as miniatures in the fictional narrative as well as 'representatives' for the actions of real people without being mere copies. "
Awards (selection)
In 2012 Bernhard Schütz received a nomination for the German Film Award for his supporting role . Marc Bauder was honored with the CineStar Prize at the Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania Film Festival.
