Jenny Schily

Jenny Rosa Schily (born May 14, 1967 in West Berlin ) is a German actress who works for both theater and film. She also works as a speaker for radio plays.

Life

Jenny Schily was born as the daughter of the lawyer and later politician Otto Schily and his first wife, the painter Christiane Schily geb. Hellwag, born. She received the first name Jenny with reference to Jenny Marx , the middle name Rosa refers to Rosa Luxemburg . She is the great-granddaughter of the architect Bruno Taut . After studying Slavic Studies , which was broken off after two semesters , she completed an acting training at the Ernst Busch Academy of Dramatic Arts in Berlin . Her first engagement took her to the Staatsschauspiel Dresden , where she made her debut in the title role in Emilia Galotti . Then she was at the Schauspiel Frankfurt and a member of the ensemble at the Theater am Turm . From 2002 to 2006 she was engaged at the Schaubühne am Lehniner Platz in Berlin, in 2010 and 2011 at the Maxim-Gorki-Theater .

She had her first major television role in 1996 in the film adaptation of the life story of Roy Black You are not alone - The Roy Black Story as his wife Silke. An important film work was The Silence after the Shot , directed by Volker Schlöndorff .

Jenny Schily has one daughter and lives in Berlin.
