Shortly afterwards, another masked perpetrator breaks into the house and also kidnaps the girl's father. Silke, Daniel Weiss's friend, appears awakened by the noise. She is a policewoman and then shoots the stranger. He returns fire and Silke dies in the exchange of fire while the kidnapper is shot. Thanks to an attentive neighbor, the police are notified very quickly and the LKA Düsseldorf is also notified. Chief Detective Helen Dorn and her partner, KHK Gregor Georgi, start the investigation.
In the meantime, Daniel Weiss learns the reason for this dramatic action. He is a good amateur shooter and is supported by Dr. Ising, a previously innocent citizen, was forced to commit an assassination attempt. With the leverage of having Weiss' daughter under his control, he causes the teacher to get his precision rifle from the shooting club. Since Ising accompanies him there, he unexpectedly meets Helen Dorn, who at this moment does not yet know that he is in control of the teacher. But when she finds the dead master-at-arms in the rifle club, everything becomes clear to her. She immediately starts a search for the car and now knows who her real opponent is: a desperate doctor whose daughter recently died of a drug overdose. The LKA storms Ising's apartment and finds one of his accomplices there, who has already bled to death from his gunshot wound.
Ising, the situation is getting over his head and the kidnappings get out of hand. She can talk to him and realizes that he has a murderous plot in the name of justice. At first she doesn't know who his vengeance campaign is directed against, but soon finds out that it is likely to be the drug mogul de Koning, who is to be flown from prison to hospital for an operation that same day. She also manages to find a trace of Johann Kruse, Ising's second accomplice, who is holding the girl prisoner. While she takes a rescue helicopter to the clinic opposite which Ising and Weiss have taken up position in an apartment, her colleague Georgi can determine the whereabouts of Kruse. With SEK support, he frees the child, while Dorn discovers the apartment from the helicopter and can rescue Weiss with another SEK. Ising who was shot survived.

criticism
Rainer Tittelbach from tittelbach.tv said quite appreciatively: “'Helen Dorn - Until the Stop' is a fast-paced, gripping crime thriller from the first to the last minute, which relies on the additional knowledge of the audience and the antagonist. Thanks to the enormous presence of Joachim Król as the angel of vengeance, as well as the high level of action on the part of the investigators and the tense exceptional situation, the film by Markus Imboden wins its class. "
Kester Schlenz writes for the star : “'Until the stop' is simply one of the best TV thrillers in recent months. Why? Because this third adventure of the silent inspector is damn exciting, because the actors are excellent and because the plot is believable in a pleasantly unpretentious way and comes without unnecessary antics. We don't see the police stumbling around mumbling and mumbling phrases, but we see them investigating and doing their job. And that is fascinating because it gives the whole thing a gripping realism that draws us into the story and lets us participate breathlessly in what is happening. "
