Glenn Goltz (* 1971 in Hamburg ) is a German actor .

Life

Education and theater

Glenn Goltz studied acting at the University of the Arts in Berlin from 1993 to 1997 . He then had permanent engagements at the Stadttheater Osnabrück (1997–1999), the State Theater Mainz (1999–2001), the Wuppertaler Bühnen (2001–2002) and the Theater Bonn (2002–2003).

Goltz initially played the classical theater repertoire, mainly in the role of the “youthful hero”. He took over u. a. Roles like Franz Moor in “ The Robbers ”, Romeo in “ Romeo and Juliet ” and Ferdinand in “ Kabale und Liebe ”; he also played the title role in Kleist's “ Die Hermannsschlacht ”, Max Piccolomi in “ Wallenstein ” and Jimmy Porter in “ Blick zurück im Zorn ” by John Osborne .

From 2004 to 2007 he worked as a freelance actor. During this time he made a guest appearance. a. at the Nationaltheater Mannheim (2003/04 season), at the Theater an der Ruhr / Mülheim (2004/05 season), at the Theaterhaus Jena (2004/05 season), at the Cologne Theater (2006/07 season), at the Sofia National Theater , at the Dramatic Theater Varna ( Bulgaria ), at the National Theater Luxembourg (2006/07 season), as well as at the Salzburg Festival and the Ruhr Festival Recklinghausen . In 2004 he founded the independent theater group “goltz + silber” together with Roland Silbernagl ; with their productions he has made guest appearances at numerous festivals.

At the Deutsches Schauspielhaus in Hamburg he appeared in the 2006/07 season as rat poison in “ Joke, Satire, Irony and Deeper Meaning ” by Christian Dietrich Grabbe ; Directed by Roger Vontobel .

From the 2007/08 season he was a permanent member of the ensemble at Theater Bremen until 2012 . Here he played u. a. Brick in " The Cat on a Hot Tin Roof " (Director: Christian von Treskow ), Mauler in " The Holy Johanna of the Slaughterhouses " (Director: Frank-Patrick Steckel ), Judge Walter in " The Broken Jug " (Director: Christian Pade) , Lövborg in “ Hedda Gabler ” (director: Sebastian Schug) and the title role in “ Macbeth ” (director: Frank-Patrick Steckel). In the 2010/11 season he performed at the Theater Bremen a. a. as bath doctor Doctor Thomas Stockmann in “ Ein Volksfeind ” (director: Robert Schuster) and as Volker in “ Die Nibelungen ” (director: Herbert Fritsch ). In 2008 he was nominated for the Kurt Huebner Prize by the Theater Friends of Bremen Theater.

In the 2012/13 season he appeared again at the Deutsches Schauspielhaus; he played the role of Pablo in "So Was von da" (Director: Jorinde Dröse ).

From 2013 to 2018 Glenn Goltz was a permanent member of the ensemble at Theater Bonn. He played there u. a. the Karl Liebknecht in "Karl and Rosa," the King Peter in " Leonce and Lena ," Hagen in "Die Nibelungen", the title role in " Faust " (with Daniel broad fields as Mephisto) and Sorin in " The Seagull ".

Other roles at Theater Bonn were Thomas Buddenbrook in a “ Buddenbrooks ” stage version (premiere: 2016/17 season, director: Sandra Strunz ), Sebastian in “ Der Sturm ” (premiere: 2016/17 season, director: Gavin Quinn ) and “ Newton ”in“ Die Physiker ”(Premiere: 2017/18 season, director: Simon Solberg ). In the 2018/19 season Goltz will continue to appear as a guest at Theater Bonn.

In the course of his career he also worked with the directors Andreas Kriegenburg , Volker Lösch , Peter Stein , Niels-Peter Rudolph , Alice Buddeberg and the regional duo Biel / Zboralski.

In 2016 he received the Bonn theater prize “Thespis” for outstanding acting.

Glenn Goltz has been working as a freelance actor since 2018 and has made guest appearances a. a. at the Düsseldorfer Schauspielhaus . In the 2018/19 season he will be a guest alongside Valerie Koch and Gertrud Roll in the play "Bella Figura" by Yasmina Reza at the Klagenfurt City Theater .

Movie and TV

Glenn Goltz has also been working regularly for film and television since 1993. His theater work, however, was still the focus of his career as an actor. He had one of his first television appearances in Tatort: ​​Klassen-Kampf (1994); he played Frank Hoffmann, the victim's best friend. In the television series Human, Pia! he had a continuous supporting role in a series; he played the young teacher Dr. Friedhelm 'Buddha' plowman. In the TV movie Baal (2004) he had a supporting role as Claude. In the ZDF crime series Stubbe - from case to case he was seen in a supporting role in 2012; he played the lawyer Obermann.
