Christian von Treskow

Christian von Treskow (born December 4, 1968 in Wolfenbüttel ) is a German director and artistic director .

Life

From 1989 to 1992 von Treskow studied German , history and philosophy at the University of Cologne and during this time worked as an assistant director at the Deutsches Schauspielhaus in Hamburg .

In 1992 he studied directing at the Ernst Busch Academy of Dramatic Arts in Berlin , which he graduated with a diploma in 1996. For one season he then worked as in-house director at the Deutsches Theater Berlin , where he ran the Baracke venue with Thomas Ostermeier . In 1997 von Treskow founded the independent group Theater Oklahoma in Berlin .

From 1998 he worked for many years as a freelance director with over 40 productions at German-speaking state theaters as well as in France and Switzerland , including Geneva , Vienna ( Burgtheater ), Cologne ( theaters of the city of Cologne ), Jena ( Theaterhaus Jena ), Lyon , Erlangen ( The Theater Erlangen ), Bremen ( Theater Bremen ), Karlsruhe and Wuppertal . In addition, he worked as an acting and directing teacher.

Since 2005 he has worked regularly on the Wuppertal theaters . At the beginning of the 2009/10 season (August 2009), he replaced General Manager Gerd Leo Kuck as acting director together with Johannes Weigand , who heads the opera division .

Christian von Treskow lives with the stage and costume designer Dorien Thomsen . Their daughters Lou and Rosa were born in 2003 and 2006.

Honors

Christian von Treskow received the Erlanger Theater Prize and the Impulse Prize in 2004 , the AZ star in 2007 and the Bavarian Theater Prize in 2008 .
