Gerd Leo Kuck (born April 16, 1943 in Wuppertal ) is a German dramaturge , director and general manager .

education

Kuck grew up in Düsseldorf and passed his Abitur there in 1962. He then studied theater studies , German literature and art history at the Universities of Cologne and Freiburg .

Engagements

Kuck's first engagement took him from 1963 to 1966 as assistant director and dramaturge at the Badisches Staatstheater Karlsruhe . From 1963 to 1966 he was engaged as a dramaturge at the Städtische Bühne Ulm , worked as a dramaturge and director at the Frankfurt Theater am Turm from 1969 to 1971 and then went to the Staatstheater Kassel , where he was head dramaturge and director from 1972 to 1975 Director acted. From 1975 to 1986 Kuck was engaged at the Vienna Burgtheater . He then went to the State Theater Stuttgart from 1986 to 1992 , where he initially worked as a dramaturge under Ivan Nagel and then advanced to the position of deputy theater director under Jürgen Bosse . Kuck taught from 1972 to 1975 at the University of Frankfurt . He has been a lecturer in practical dramaturgy at the University of Vienna since 1979 .

Offices

In January 2007, Kuck was elected speaker of the Standing Conference of Theater Directors in North Rhine-Westphalia , replacing Jens Pesel , General Director of the United City Theaters in Krefeld and Mönchengladbach .
