Sommerfest is a German dramedy film by Sönke Wortmann from 2017 . The main roles were played by Lucas Gregorowicz and Anna Bederke .

The theater actor Stefan Zöllner visits his hometown Bochum over the weekend . He plans to sell his late father's house there and return to Munich after three days at the latest . But that is easier said than done. He meets old friends and acquaintances and also his childhood sweetheart Charlie.

The film is based on the novel of the same name by Frank Goosen .

The shooting started in May 2016 in Cologne , Mülheim and Hagen , but mostly on location in Bochum  in the Wattenscheid district . Some scenes were filmed on the sports field of the local national league team SW Wattenscheid 08. The soccer players Görkem Sağlam ( VfL Bochum ) and Nico Buckmaier  ( Wattenscheid 09 ), who have smaller appearances in the film, also came. Other well-known locations in Bochum were the Bismarck Tower , the Hanover colliery and Lake Kemnader .

The film was released on June 29, 2017.

criticism

Rheinische Post reviewer Philipp Holstein wrote that the film looked "over long stretches ... like a coloring book for Ruhr area clichés".
