José Adelino Dantas

José Adelino Dantas (born March 17, 1910 in São Vicente , Rio Grande do Norte , Brazil , † March 24, 1983 ) was Bishop of Ruy Barbosa .

Life

José Adelino Dantas received on 18 November 1934, the sacrament of Holy Orders .

On June 10, 1952, Pope Pius XII appointed him . to the Bishop of Caicó . The Archbishop of Natal , Marcolino Esmeraldo de Souza Dantas , donated him episcopal ordination on September 14 of the same year ; Co-consecrators were the Bishop of Limoeiro do Norte , Aureliano de Matos , and the auxiliary bishop in Fortaleza , Elizeu Simões Mendes .

Pope Pius XII appointed him Bishop of Garanhuns on May 3, 1958 . On February 20, 1967, Pope Paul VI appointed him . to the Bishop of Ruy Barbosa. Paul VI accepted on October 4, 1975 the resignation put forward by José Adelino Dantas.

José Adelino Dantas participated in all four sessions of the Second Vatican Council .
