Manuel Tavares de Araújo

Manuel Tavares de Araújo (born July 7, 1912 in São José de Mipibu , † February 18, 2006 ) was a Brazilian clergyman and Roman Catholic bishop of Caicó .

Life

Manuel Tavares de Araújo was ordained a priest on October 25, 1936 .

On January 8, 1959 he was by Pope John XXIII. appointed Bishop of Caicó . The Archbishop of São Luís do Maranhão , José de Medeiros Delgado , donated him episcopal ordination on April 5 of the same year ; Co- consecrators were José Adelino Dantas , Bishop of Garanhuns and Justin Francis Rigali , Auxiliary Bishop in Natal .

Pope Paul VI accepted his early resignation on March 29, 1978.
