Tom Spit

Tom Spieß (born December 30, 1961 in Bremen ) is a German film producer .

biography

Spieß studied theater studies and journalism at the Free University of Berlin before starting his career as a production driver. As a unit manager, he supervised films by directors such as Mika Kaurismäki , Adolf Winkelmann and John Schlesinger , after which he worked as a production manager for various television films and international productions. The shareholders of X-Films Creative Pool hired him in May 1995 as production manager; From December 1997 he took over the Cologne branch of the X-Films Creative Pool.

In January 2000, he took over the management of the production company Little Shark Entertainment , founded by Sönke Wortmann in 1998 and becoming a partner in 2002 .

On January 1, 2017, Tom Spieß switched to Constantin Film as a producer .

In addition to his activities as a producer and production manager, Spieß had guest appearances in the films Der Krieger und die Kaiserin , Die tödliche Maria (both by Tom Tykwer ) and Das Leben ist eine Baustelle (by Wolfgang Becker ).
