History of the company

In 2000, the company's own film distribution company X Verleih was founded, which works closely with the German branch of Warner Bros. , Warner Bros. Pictures Germany, and makes use of their sales structure. Because of the bankruptcy of Senator Film 2004, the partners tried to buy back the company from the bankruptcy estate. However, since this did not succeed, Becker, Tykwer and Levy founded Y Films in February 2006 . In February 2008, Senator Film announced the separation from X Films, but the distribution cooperation was maintained. The current management of the company consists of Stefan Arndt, Wolfgang Becker, Dani Levy and Tom Tykwer. The managing directors are Stefan Arndt and Uwe Schott.
